A.C.E. is a collaborative regional effort on the part of several neighboring Catholic parish communities to provide a continuing source of faith formation for adults. Facets of Catholic doctrine as well as various spirituality styles are offered, so that all Catholics, and others who may be interested, will have access to the very best that our diocese has to offer. Our speakers are chosen from our local Catholic colleges, universities, seminaries, retreat houses and religious communities. At times, presenters from outside the diocese will be brought in to share their particular expertise. It is our hope that many people will continue to avail themselves of the opportunities offered through A.C.E.

We are entering a period of new vitality for the church, a period in which adult Catholic laity will play a pivotal role in fulfilling the Christian mission of evangelizing and transforming society. For adults to fulfill their roles in this new era of the Church, their faith formation must be lifelong, just as they must continue to learn to keep up with the changing world.
#29, Our Hearts Were Burning Within Us, U.S. Catholic Bishops Pastoral Plan for Adult Faith Formation in the United States, 1999.
Parishes in the next decades, either alone or in collaboration with their neighbors, should have effective programs of education in our faith at all levels. My...conviction is that vibrant parish life is best achieved through the collaborative efforts of several ministries and communities in an area, and that these ministries will often permeate parish boundaries.
“Vibrant Parish Life”, a Pastoral Letter of Bishop Anthony M. Pilla, 2001.
