Education Commission

The Education Commission serves as an advisory group regarding faith formation and religious education for the children and youth of the parish, from preschool through twelfth grade. The Commission meets on the first Monday of the month, nine times a year. Members are encouraged to volunteer for a three-year term.

Partnership with St. Michael's School
In November 2000, St. Basil's Parish entered into a partnership agreement with St. Michael's Parish and School that will: provide for a Catholic education for the children of both parishes; utilize the present educational facilities at both parishes in the most efficient manner; and ensure enrollment priority for members of both parishes.

Kindergarten and first grade classes will be based at St. Basil's Educational Center.

Grades 2-8 will be based at St. Michael's School.

An inter-parish school advisory board provides support and guidance to St. Michael's School.

For information regarding St. Michael's School, please contact the school office at 216-524-6405. St. Basil parishioners are asked to meet with the Pastor prior to making application to the school.

Parish School of Religion
St. Basil Parish offers a full religious curriculum for children ages 3 to 18. Each level of the program is designed to build upon the faith example set by the parents, who are the primary religious educators of their children.

All parish students in grades 1-12 who attend public schools are expected to attend PSR classes. Class content follows the curriculum guidelines from the Diocese of Cleveland. For more information, contact  PSR via e-mail or to register new students, use the form in the New Parishioner Folder.
