Mission Statement

The Family Life Activities Group (FLAG) is comprised of families who share a common goal of joining together for fellowship and fun. FLAG events are designed to insure wholesome and faith-filled fun experiences for all families. FLAG’s primary goals are to promote family participation in the Parish and provide ample opportunities for St. Basil families to come to know each other. FLAG is comprised of volunteers within St. Basil. FLAG welcomes all families to all events.

 

Our Events

Ice Cream Social – this event is typically run in September following a Children’s Liturgy where there is a special blessing for all school children. All families are invited for ice cream sundaes and coffee/tea as a celebration to kick off the new school year.

Fall Fest – this is a church-wide event in which FLAG is responsible for organizing and running games and crafts for children of all ages.

Advent Event – this event prepares our hearts and minds for the upcoming season of Advent as we prepare for Jesus’ birth. Typically this involves a family craft and songs.

Basketball Event - this is a fun opportunity for parents to play basketball with their children of all ages. The older the child, the tougher the rules!

Easter Eggstravaganza – families gather for this fun morning of games, crafts, an egg hunt and to make Easter cards for the shut-ins of our Parish.

Family Dance – families come out for a night of dinner, dancing, fun and friendship.

Parish Picnic – this is a church-wide event in which FLAG plans and runs games and crafts for children of all ages.

Summer Movie Night – this is pure summer fun with a cook out and an outdoor movie for all.
