bullet LIFE TEEN + CONFIRMATION

The Catechism of the Catholic Church states that: “Confirmation is necessary for the completion of baptismal grace…the effect of the sacrament of Confirmation is the special outpouring of the Holy Spirit as once granted to the apostles on the day of Pentecost“. This seal of the Holy Spirit marks our total belonging to Christ, our enrollment in His service forever:
  • It unites us more firmly to Christ
  • It increases the gifts of the Holy Spirit in us
  • It renders our bond with the Church more perfectly
  • It gives us a special strength of the Holy Spirit to spread and defend the faith by word and action as true witnesses of Christ
Young Man Being ConfirmedThis is an important time for our teens because they will have many opportunities to reflect upon how they are living the life of Christ in the Spirit from day to day.

Students wishing to be confirmed must meet the requirements of the St. Basil Life Teen Confirmation Program. These requirements are for all Confirmation candidates, even those attending Catholic high schools. A 10th grader who does not meet the requirements will have the opportunity to be confirmed with the next Confirmation class.

Requirements for Confirmation include:
  • Attendance to at least six (6) Life Nights during their 9th grade year
  • Attendance to at least six (6) Life Nights during their 10th grade year
  • Attendance to at least one (1) Life Teen weekend retreat in either your 9th or 10th grade year
(two are offered each school year, so four possible chances to get your one retreat in!)
  • Participation in a service project to serve others who are in need during their 10th grade year
  • Attendance at four (4) Confirmation meetings during their 10th grade year
  • Attendance at Confirmation Mass

Confirmation Dates are on the main page of the Life Teen site under the heading "Upcoming Life Teen Events"
