Confirmation

The Catechism of the Catholic Church states that: “Confirmation is necessary for the completion of baptismal grace – the effect of the sacrament of Confirmation is the special outpouring of the Holy Spirit as once granted to the apostles on the day of Pentecost.”

Confirmation

Tenth-grade students wishing to be confirmed must meet the requirements of the St. Basil Life Teen Confirmation Program. These requirements are for all confirmation candidates, including those attending Catholic High schools. For more information on receiving the sacrament of Confirmation and its requirements, please visit our page on

Are you an adult Catholic who has not received the Sacrament of Confirmation?

Did you know that you need to be confirmed in order to be fully initiated in the Catholic Faith? That you cannot be a sponsor for Baptism or Confirmation unless you were confirmed?

Confirmation by the Bishop is celebrated at St. Basil the Great in May each year. If you would like to celebrate the Sacrament at that time, you need to begin preparation in September – October of the fall prior to that celebration in May.

For further information, contact (440) 526-1686 about the program of preparation for this Sacrament.
