Sacraments
A sacrament is:
1) a sacred sign
2) instituted by Christ
3) to give grace.
Note that a sacrament is also “entrusted to the Church” (CCC 1131).
The purpose of the sacraments is:
(1) to sanctify us,
(2) to build up the Body of Christ, and
(3) to give worship to God (CCC 1123).
